Phone Wallpaper Formats
Different phone models require different wallpaper dimensions to look sharp instead of blurry or stretched. Our tool supports all major phone and tablet screen sizes so you can resize once and get a crisp result on any device.
iPhone Wallpaper Sizes
iPhone wallpaper resolution depends on the model's screen size and pixel density. Using the current generation's dimensions below will avoid soft or pixelated results.
| iPhone Model | Wallpaper Size (px) |
|---|---|
| iPhone 16 Pro Max / 15 Pro Max | 1320 × 2868 |
| iPhone 16 Pro / 15 Pro | 1179 × 2556 |
| iPhone 16 / 15 | 1179 × 2556 |
| iPhone 16 Plus / 15 Plus | 1290 × 2796 |
| iPhone SE (3rd gen) | 750 × 1334 |
Exact figures vary slightly by iOS version and Dynamic Island cropping — when in doubt, size up rather than down.
Android Wallpaper Sizes
Android screen resolutions are far more fragmented than iPhone's, since dozens of manufacturers ship different panels. Rather than one fixed number, aim for one of these common resolution bands based on your device tier:
- Standard (1080p-class): 1080 × 2340 — most mid-range phones
- High-end (1440p-class): 1440 × 3120 — flagship phones like Galaxy S and Pixel Pro series
- Compact phones: 1080 × 2400
Uploading a higher resolution than your screen never hurts — Android will scale it down. Uploading a lower resolution will look soft.
iPad and Tablet Wallpaper Sizes
Tablets use closer-to-square aspect ratios than phones. iPad Pro (12.9") uses 2048 × 2732, iPad Air and standard iPad use 1640 × 2360. For Android tablets, 1600 × 2560 covers most modern models.
Why Wallpapers Look Blurry: Understanding Retina and Pixel Density
Two phones can share the same physical screen size but need very different image resolutions, because pixel density (measured in PPI) differs between models. A wallpaper sized correctly in inches but exported at a low pixel count will look soft or pixelated once displayed on a high-density screen. This is the most common reason a "correctly sized" wallpaper still looks blurry — always match the pixel dimensions in the tables above, not just the aspect ratio.
High Quality Output
All wallpapers generated by this tool preserve source resolution and use lossless-quality export settings, so sharpness is maintained through the resize.
